From Saalbach Hinterglemm you can easily reach the Hintersee near Mittersill as a day trip by car, roughly around an hour, depending on traffic and route. You start at the Hintersee parking lot in the municipality of Mittersill.

If you want to experience the lake at its most beautiful, it is best to come in the morning. Then the light is often so bright that the surface glistens and the clarity is really visible. A striking highlight in the Felbertal valley is the Schleierfall, where the water falls from a great height into the high valley.
