Yes. The Rosentalerhof is ideal for families who enjoy short distances, plenty of space, and a hassle-free vacation. You can choose from cozy hotel rooms and spacious apartments for families and groups of friends. Right next to the hotel, you’ll find Montelino’s Adventure Alm, play areas, and—in the summer—plenty of family-friendly activities in Saalbach Hinterglemm.

The hotel itself also offers plenty for children. Our indoor children’s paradise provides a welcome change of pace if the weather isn’t cooperating or if there’s still energy left after an excursion. In summer, the JOKER CARD is also included . It offers families numerous free services and discounts, including mountain railway rides and many leisure activities in Saalbach Hinterglemm.

After an active day, head to the Berg.Spa, featuring a heated outdoor pool, Finnish sauna, and saltwater steam room. Families can relax in the pool.The facility features a children’s play area and comfortable lounge chairs, while adults can unwind in complete peace and quiet in the adults-only relaxation rooms, Moos.Raum and Schwebe.Raum. Especially convenient for families: From the adults-only areas, you have a clear view of the pool and the children’s playground.

Our summer bistro is also open during the summer.

At the Rosentalerhof, families can choose between hotel rooms and spacious apartments. Our apartments are especially convenient if you’re traveling with several children, grandparents, or friends and would like a little more space. Depending on the apartment, they can accommodate up to 7 people, and the larger apartments also feature 2 bathrooms.

Apartment guests can also enjoy all the hotel’s amenities, including the Berg.Spa with its heated outdoor pool, panoramic Finnish sauna, and saltwater steam bath, as well as the children’s play area and the hotel’s other facilities. Breakfast can be added to your reservation, subject to availability.

We’re parents ourselves and know how nice it is to have flexibility on a family vacation. That’s exactly why our offerings are tailored to the needs of families with babies and young children. We’re happy to provide cribs upon request, and high chairs are, of course, also available. For our youngest guests, we also have our “Toddler Paradise” for playing and exploring.

In the summer, the outdoor pool is heated to about 29 °C, making it comfortable even for little water lovers. Montelino’s Adventure Farm is also located right in front of the hotel, making it ideal for families with young children. For trips into the mountains, you can rent children’s backpacks from us.

Families can also be flexible when it comes to meals: Our breakfast offers a good selection for children. Guests staying in an apartment can cook for themselves at any time. And in the summer, our summer bistro serves hot meals from 3 pm to 8 pm . This makes for a pleasantly uncomplicated family holiday.

In summer, the JOKER CARD is also included . This provides free access to numerous mountain railway rides, allowing families to easily reach the top of the mountain and experience the summit world of Saalbach Hinterglemm without having to undertake a long hike or climb many meters in altitude.

This is especially ideal with younger children: get off at the top, enjoy the view, take a short family hike, and still get to experience the mountain to the fullest.

Yes. Our modern and spacious play area for toddlers is located right next to the restaurant in its own separate room. This way, the children are close by but still have their own space to play.

For younger children, there is a toddler corner with soft Lego blocks, a play area with a crawl tunnel and slide, as well as motor skills games and wall games. Older children can try their hand at the climbing wall or play small matches of Clip Clap Hockey.

This means there’s still plenty of room for exercise, play, and a little action—even on rainy days or after a long outing.

Yes. Families are very welcome at Berg.Spa. The heated outdoor pool is kept at a temperature of at least 29 °C even in the summer, making it perfect for relaxing together after a day in the mountains.

The Pool.Haus features a children’s play area and comfortable lounge chairs. Children can also use the saltwater steam room and the rain shower.

If you’d like to unwind in complete tranquility, Moos.Raum, Schwebe.Raum, and the Finnish panoramic sauna offer additional adults-only areas.

Yes. Many of the main attractions in Hinterglemm are within walking distance. Mountain railways, playgrounds, restaurants, and tourist attractions are all nearby, and there are public transportation options right in the area.

One parking space is available per room or apartment right next to the Rosentalerhof. Additional free parking spaces are available within easy walking distance. So it’s perfectly fine to leave the car behind once in a while during a family vacation.

  • Montelino adventure trail: The Montelino adventure trail is the perfect adventure for young children. Between the middle and summit stations of the Kohlmaisbahn, Montelino leads along the adventure trail, the water and summit playground to the game feeding station.
  • Wildlife Trail: The masters of hide and seek live here in Glemmtal: chamois, foxes, golden eagles, deer etc. On the Wildlife Trail, Lilo and Ossi guide you through exciting puzzles and give you an insight into the local wildlife – carved out of wood and sometimes even visible through binoculars. If you solve the wildlife quiz, you can collect your well-earned medal at the Ossmannalm and be as proud as a golden eagle!
    A summit tour on the 12er Kogel: Would you like to climb a summit with your children? There are playgrounds, a ball track and a wooden mini-golf course along the way.
  • Mount Kodok: An exciting adventure park for children between the ages of 7 and 14, based on a mystical story. Children can solve puzzles and discover nature in the process.
  • Treetop walk and Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps: Europe’s highest treetop walk is located at the head of the valley. The treetop path and the 200-metre-long suspension bridge offer spectacular views and an exciting experience in the treetops.
  • Mountain biking: We are paradise for cyclists and anyone who wants to become one. At Learn2Ride Park, you can enjoy five well-known trails in miniature: Little Monti, Little Hacklberg, Little Panorama, Little Pro-Line and the Drop Area. The magic carpet guarantees a quick ascent. Have you practised enough and feel confident? Then it’s time to conquer the ‘big trails’! At the Kohlmais middle or mountain station, you can set off on the Monti and Panorama Trails – this is where the fun really gets going!

    Paragliding and tandem flights: Adventurous family members have the opportunity to experience the Alps from a bird’s eye view.

Saalbach Hinterglemm is perfect for families: almost every mountain hut has a playground for children. Our personal favourite is the water playground at the reservoir near Mount Kodok, where little ones can play with water, stones and wood, splash around and explore.

Right in front of our hotel is Montelino’s adventure alm with a large Montelino to explore, a slide tower, lots of climbing opportunities and a water playground with a raft that you can pull across the water yourself using a rope. Children are right in the middle of this play and discovery land, while their parents sit on our sun terrace, enjoy a cool drink and keep an eye on their kids at all times. And if you want to experience something together, you can play a round of adventure golf right outside the hotel door.

There’s no chance of boredom indoors either: our spacious playroom features a cosy toddler corner with Lego bricks, a play area with a crawling tunnel and slide, as well as motor skills and wall games. Older children can try out the climbing wall or engage in an exciting game of Clip Clap.

There are several hikes in Saalbach-Hinterglemm that are especially suitable for small children and baby carriages. Here are some of the best options:

  • Talschlussweg: A wide and well-surfaced path that leads through the beautiful Glemmtal valley. The path is relatively flat and offers many interesting stations and play opportunities for children.
  • Montelino’s adventure trail: This child-friendly hike starts at the Kohlmaisbahn and leads along a varied adventure trail with lots of exciting children’s stations.
  • Schnitza’s Holzpark: An easily accessible hiking trail that leads to a large wooden adventure playground. The path is pram-friendly and offers beautiful views and rest stops along the way.
  • Reiterkogel circular trail: Another easy and pram-friendly trail that leads around the Reiterkogel. The trail offers gentle ascents and great views, perfect for a relaxed family outing. The width of the cable car is 60cm, please check in advance whether your baby carriage will fit.
  • Promenade Saalbach-Hinterglemm: This promenade is ideal for walks with a baby carriage. The path is flat and well developed, with plenty of opportunities to stop and play along the way.

Together with our children we bike the Panoramatrail and the Montiline in Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Guided family hikes are organized by the Saalbach Tourist Office and offer the opportunity to discover the Glemmer mountains together with experienced hiking guides. For all bike enthusiasts, Bike n’Soul offers guided bike tours for beginners and advanced bikers.

Yes, there are numerous family-friendly events in Saalbach-Hinterglemm during the vacation season. At the GlemmRide Festival, the little ones can show off their talent at the Rookies Cup. The World Games of Mountain Biking offer exciting children’s races, where young bikers also get their money’s worth. Another highlight for families is the OKITOKI auf TOUR festival, a cheerful children’s festival with lots of fun and games. Here the little ones can meet popular stars such as Heidi, Maya the Bee and Tom Turbo from television.

We recommend spending a relaxing afternoon in our summer bistro with a delicious Missi ice cream. The Schleckeria in Hinterglemm is also a great place to linger and enjoy yourself. Soft-serve ice cream fans will be in heaven at the Unterberger Bakery in Saalbach.
