FAQs summer in Saalbach Hinterglemm

In Saalbach-Hinterglemm there are a variety of family activities in summer that provide fun and adventure. Here are some of the most popular:

  • Montelino adventure trail: The Montelino adventure trail is the perfect adventure for young children. Between the middle and summit stations of the Kohlmaisbahn, Montelino leads along the adventure trail, the water and summit playground to the game feeding station.
  • Wildlife Trail: The masters of hide and seek live here in Glemmtal: chamois, foxes, golden eagles, deer etc. On the Wildlife Trail, Lilo and Ossi guide you through exciting puzzles and give you an insight into the local wildlife – carved out of wood and sometimes even visible through binoculars. If you solve the wildlife quiz, you can collect your well-earned medal at the Ossmannalm and be as proud as a golden eagle!
A summit tour on the 12er Kogel: Would you like to climb a summit with your children? There are playgrounds, a ball track and a wooden mini-golf course along the way.
  • Mount Kodok: An exciting adventure park for children between the ages of 7 and 14, based on a mystical story. Children can solve puzzles and discover nature in the process.
  • Treetop walk and Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps: Europe’s highest treetop walk is located at the head of the valley. The treetop path and the 200-metre-long suspension bridge offer spectacular views and an exciting experience in the treetops.
  • Mountain biking: We are paradise for cyclists and anyone who wants to become one. At Learn2Ride Park, you can enjoy five well-known trails in miniature: Little Monti, Little Hacklberg, Little Panorama, Little Pro-Line and the Drop Area. The magic carpet guarantees a quick ascent. Have you practised enough and feel confident? Then it’s time to conquer the ‘big trails’! At the Kohlmais middle or mountain station, you can set off on the Monti and Panorama Trails – this is where the fun really gets going!
Do the kids want to practise their first freeride tricks? Then the Monti Trail is the perfect practice track for little adventurers!
  • Mega Flying Fox: Adventure high ropes park with Jump & Slide Park: Fancy a game with gravity? Then head to the high ropes park in Hinterglemm! Austria’s largest climbing park awaits you here with 8 km of courses, the Mega Flying Fox, where you can whizz through the air at 80 km/h, and the Jump & Slide Park with a 35 m long slide and an 8 m high Jump Tower – pure adrenaline rush!

Saalbach Hinterglemm is perfect for families: almost every mountain hut has a playground for children. Our personal favourite is the water playground at the reservoir near Mount Kodok, where little ones can play with water, stones and wood, splash around and explore.

Right in front of our hotel is Montelino’s adventure alm with a large Montelino to explore, a slide tower, lots of climbing opportunities and a water playground with a raft that you can pull across the water yourself using a rope. Children are right in the middle of this play and discovery land, while their parents sit on our sun terrace, enjoy a cool drink and keep an eye on their kids at all times. And if you want to experience something together, you can play a round of adventure golf right outside the hotel door.

There’s no chance of boredom indoors either: our spacious playroom features a cosy toddler corner with Lego bricks, a play area with a crawling tunnel and slide, as well as motor skills and wall games. Older children can try out the climbing wall or engage in an exciting game of Clip Clap.

Guided family hikes are organized by the Saalbach Tourist Office and offer the opportunity to discover the Glemmer mountains together with experienced hiking guides. For all bike enthusiasts, Bike n’Soul offers guided bike tours for beginners and advanced bikers.

All guests receive the JokerCard with numerous advantages. It enables free travel on mountain railroads, buses and trains, offers access to guided hikes and invites you to a relaxing yoga session on the forest wellness trail.
